UPCOMING CONCERTS

‘To our great joy, the town fills apace, and shops begin to be open again. Pray God continue the plague’s decrease!’  Samuel Pepys, Sunday 31 December 1665

The Cardinal Consort has two upcoming performances! We are thrilled to be collaborating once again with countertenor Daniel Cabena. The concerts, ‘To Our Great Joy’, will feature music by composers of the 16th and 17th centuries who survived plague and pestilence.

The combination of Daniel Cabena, known for his “profoundly touching and utterly compelling” performances, and the stirring and magical sounds of viols will bring this incredible music to life. The alchemy of voice and viol consort will soothe the soul and stir the spirit of the plague-weary, just as it did many centuries ago.
